DETAILS
In 1828 the first structure of the Belle Toute Lighthouse was built originally made of wood, the current structure here today was built in 1834. The newly renovated    lighthouse is fitted with a range of Titon’s window hardware including Securistyle’s Defender and Sterling friction hinges. The Belle Toute Lighthouse dates back to 1828 and was decommissioned in 1902. The old lighthouse was replaced with a new construction at the base of the cliffs. In 1999 the old lighthouse was forced to move back by seventeen metres from the cliffs due to the erosion of the face of the cliff.

Part of the owners criteria was to have secure and reliable window systems that wouldn’t be affected by the acetylation of the Accoya® timber frames which made Titon’s and Securistyle’s products the perfect choice.

Securistyle’s Defender and Sterling friction hinges have been used on this renovation because of their durability. The high grade austenitic stainless steel used for the Sterling and Defender friction hinges made an ideal choice because the high-grade material is specifically selected to provide increased strength and guaranteed long-term resistance to corrosion. As with all Securistyle austenitic products the Sterling and Defender hinges are fully supported by a 12 year guarantee. (Full details available on request.)
